Tight-lipped, plain clothed police launch apparent raid in Norwich

NORWICH – Several plain clothed state police officer in unmarked vehicles launch an apparent raid in the City of Norwich Thursday morning and reported no arrests.

The officers could be seen removing items from a West Main Street residence at around 9 a.m.

They declined to comment at the scene and retreated into the house after press arrived.

Troop C Public Information Officer Trooper Aga Dembinska confirmed they were state police officers at the residence. She said there were no arrests made relating to the activity.

No further public information was released. She could not confirm if police had a obtained a search warrant.

The armed officers were in plain civilian clothing, wore bright purple gloves, and drove two unmarked vehicles. Some were seen wearing police badges on their belts.
