United Church of Christ to host driver safety course

NORWICH – The United Church of Christ in Norwich will host the American Association of Retired Persons’ Driver Safety Course on Monday and Wednesday.

The 6-hour course will be held 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day,and attendees must attend both days to qualify for the certificate which is earned with course completion. Each class will be held at The United Church of Christ on 11 West Main Street, in Norwich New York.

Any person with a New York State Drivers License that completes the course may earn a deduction on their automobile insurance for a three year period, or have points removed from their driver’s license.

If a family owns more than one vehicle, a second person must take the course to qualify for the second vehicle discount.

The course costs $20.00 for AARP members with proof of membership, and $ 25.00 for non-member.

Event organizers prefer attendees pay by checks made out to the AARP on the first day of the course.

Class sizes will limited, and all participants are asked to bring their New York State Driver’s License, a pen, and if they possess it, an AARP Card to class.
