NORWICH – The 23rd Annual Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will be taking over East Main Street in downtown Norwich on Saturday and Sunday, July 14 and 15. The deadline to register a team is coming soon.
Gus Macker is designed for basketball players who love the fun of the driveway game.
Teams are computer-matched into male and female divisions in one of three categories: junior, adult, or top. The age, height and experience of all four players on each team are considered in bracketing.
It doesn’t matter whether you are age 7 to 70-plus, short or tall, male or female, played basketball forever or never stepped on a court. If you just want to have fun in one of the premier events of the summer, register today.
Teams receive at least three scheduled games each tournament.
The local tournament has 400 spots allotted for teams of all ages to register and do fill quickly. Cost to play is $140 per team and a team can consist of four players.
To mail-in your team’s entry form, information and payment must postmarked by Friday, June 22. The cutoff to fill out team registration online is Monday, June 25 by 11:59 p.m. The website to register is www.macker.com/norwich-ny.
If you have any questions about registering, contact the Norwich Family YMCA at 336-YMCA (9622).
