Brindisi declares victory over Tenney in close race

NEW YORK STATE – With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Anthony Brindisi (D) leads Claudia Tenney (R) in New York's 22nd House District election 50.3 percent to 49.7 percent.


Brindisi declared victory and celebrated with his campaign staff and supporters in Utica following the results Tuesday night, though acknowledging there are still a number of absentee votes to be counted.


"We knew it would be an uphill battle," said Brindisi. "We were outnumbered, we had a lot of money spent against us. A lot of billionaires, a lot of millionaires spending money, but we showed them. I am very, very happy to report that the power of many is better than the power of a few."
