On Sunday Norwich VFW Post 2782 held its annual Veterans Day Parade, followed by a ceremony in East Park marking the 100th anniversary to the signing of the armistice ending World War I. Retired Army Sergeant Major John Sheldon was the guest speaker at the ceremony, discussing the importance of supporting our veterans and remaining vigilant as citizens of the United States. He said war is sometimes necessary to preserve freedom in the face of gutless terrorism, and advised attendees to be sheepdogs rather than sheep.
