Chenango Board of Elections seeking new poll workers

CHENANGO COUNTY – The Chenango County Board of Elections is looking to recruit new poll workers for 2019 and beyond.

Chenango County Republican Commissioner of Elections Mary Lou Monahan said, "We are in dire need of people who are concerned about the type of work they are doing. Our ranks are reduced and we need dependable people for this important duty who are committed to performing their job duties, which in turn ensures a smooth and trouble free election process on the 'big day.'"

Interested individuals must take an annual three hour certification. The county board of elections will pay for the $25 certification fee, and future election day work is then compensated at the prevailing minimum wage.

If you are interested or have any questions, call Monahan at (607) 337-1764 or Chenango County Democratic Commissioner of Elections Carol Franklin at (607) 337-1765.
