Long-time Otselic Valley Physical Education teacher, Athletic Director and succesful coach in the Vikings Basketball program Dave Loomis had the high school gymnasium named in his honor Friday night. Loomis first became the head coach of Vikings junior varsity team in the early 1970’s. A few years later, he took over at the varsity leader and remained in the position into the early 2000’s. Many of the boys basketball team banners that hang on the walls in the gym came in the years Loomis was at the helm. He is currently the Vikings junior varsity coach.
