Turnback Tuesdays: The 60s
FIREMEN have begun work on their new fire training grounds west of the sewage disposal plant on Hale Street. Above Dave Law builds a cement block wall around maze of pipes. Under the ground is a 1000 gallon tank which will hold motor oil and other burnable substances. With the pump the materials can be transported underground to a pit, upper left, 15 ft. in diameter, where it can be lighted and then be put out again by the firefighters.
