Norwich boys bowling nearly breaks school series record; Hancock sweep in both boys and girls matches

NORWICH – The Purple Tornado boys Bowling team erupted Wednesday, taking down the Windsor Black Knights 5-0 and nearly broke the school’s scratch series record. The team finished with 3211 total pins on the day, 734 better than their opponent. The Lady Black Knights captured the win over the host team, taking all points in the match.

Norwich had four of their top five bowlers pick up series score over 600 with one coming 15 pins away from a 700. Nick Deady of the Tornado rolled a 256 in his first game of the afternoon and recorded 200-plus scores in the other two to finish with a match-best 685.

Kai Scheer, who bowled the best score in the second game, finished with the next best score for Norwich with a 676. Teammate Cameron Birtch scored a 237, 215, 205 for his single game scores, adding up to a series score of 675.

The Tornado’s Griffen Clipston grab best game honors in the final game of the day and rolled a 627 while Scott Manwarren finished the day with a 566, bowling a 214 in game two.

Windsor was led by Andy Barton’s 589 series score, bowling a team-best 213 single game.

The girls match saw the Black Knights’ Linsey Anders bowl a match-best 329 series, bowling all three games as the highest single score in each.

Norwich’s Lexi Taylor rolled a team-high 504 total in the three games, bowling a 203 in the third. Gabby Warren finished the afternoon with the next best score of 481.
