Lady Marauders snag league win despite rough shooting night; UV fall to Spartans

CLINTON – Sherburne-Earlville’s Kaitlyn Furner finished one rebound shy of a double-double, pouring in 17 points and pulling down 9 boards as the Lady Marauders brought home a Center State Conference 49-35 win over Clinton Friday night.

Furner racked up most of her points in the second and third quarters, recording 12 of her points in the 16 minutes of play.

Despite a 21-for-80 shooting night by S-E, the team put up double figures on the scoreboard in the first three quarters of action, where they held a 22 point lead.

Defensively, the Marauders caused a lot of disruption in the Clinton offense as they held their opponent to under 10 points in the same stretch of play.
