Cooperstown-Milford 40, Sherburne-Earlville 30
SHERBURNE – Just three matches of the 15 throughout the meet between Cooperstown and the Marauders of Sherburne-Earlville were wrestled on the mat Wednesday evening. S-E captured a win by pinfall in one of the three, but it was the forfeits that held the dual meet end in favor of the Hawkeyes with a final score of 40-30.
The meet started with five of the first seven bouts going to Cooperstown due to forfeits by the Marauders – who have a roster size of just eight wrestlers.
Selina Moore of S-E was the first to take to the mat against the Hawkeyes Cooper Guzy. Moore avoided the pin by Guzy, forcing the match to go the full three periods. Moore scored three points in the bout but fell to Cooperstown’s 120 pounder in an 11-3 major decision.
The next weight class to hit the mats was the 145 bout featuring one of Sherburne-Earlville’s stand-out, Morgan Lakin.

Following Foster’s bout, S-E won four of the final six matches remaining in the dual with forfeits by Cooperstown. 195 and 285 saw double forfeits, resulting no matches held.
The Marauders head to Cazenovia Saturday to take part in the Cazenovia Invitational. Tournament action begins at 10 a.m.
Onondaga-Tully 41, Otselic Valley 21

Remillard faced Onondaga-Tully’s Alina Sherman. Sherman pinned the Vikings 132 pounder in 1:13 for the first period victory.
In the last match of the night, DeLeo took on O-T’s Dalton Currie. Not needing more than the first period of the match, Currie put DeLeo on his back and pinned him at 1:15.
