Lady Bobcats steal win from Blackhawks at the lanes on the road; Marauders boys and girls stay undefeated

NORWICH – The Bobcats of Bainbridge-Guilford and the Lady Blackhawks met on the lanes earlier this week for a Midstate Athletic Conference match. With a final pin total of 2159-1833, B-G swept all four points in the match to take the victory over Oxford.
Aubrey Bronson of Bainbridge-Guilford finished with the match’s series high of 550, topping the Blackhawks’ standout Erin Howard by five pins. Bronson also recorded two of the highest single game scores with a 187 in game two and bettered her own score by one pin in the third.
Howard started off the match on a high note, scoring a 192 for the highest single game of the afternoon. She finished with a team-high 545 three game series.
Oxford also received a 397 from Megan Smith with Cat Maynard recorded the team’s third best score of 329. Catherine Northrup bowled a 315 and Leah VanDeusen was the Blackhawks’ final score recorded with a 257.
Aiding in the team win for the Bobcats was Sasha Lamoree rolling a 434, Catherine Fuller picking up a 387 and Jezrah Sherman finishing four pins behind Fuller. Alexis Gombach bowled the first two games for a 243 while Mariah Olcott scored a 162 in the final game.
Oxford’s next match is scheduled for Friday as they host Unadilla Valley at the Family Recreation Lanes in Norwich. Action is slated to start at 3:45 p.m.
Sherburne-Earlville boys and girls bowling remain undefeated after wins during the week
BOONVILLE – The host Adirondack beat their visiting opponent, the Sherburne-Earlville Marauders, in the first game by two pins but it was S-E who took the win overall after bouncing back from game one to win 4-1 and keep their undefeated record intact following the match held at Boonville Bowl-O-Rama Thursday afternoon.
All five Sherburne-Earlville bowlers finished the match with a three game total over 450 with Trace Kane leading the way with his 627 match-high series. Kane scored a 229 in game two and a 192 in the final game for two of the highest single game scores. He also rolled a 206 in game one.
Adirondack’s Jack Fynmore took the overall single game high honors with is 242 in the first game as he ended the match with a team-high 540 scratch series score.
The Marauders combined for a 918 score in game two, dominating the competition by 190 pins. Joey Youngs of Sherburne-Earlville rolled a 191 in the game while no team member recorded a game score below 150. Youngs finished with the second highest three game series score for S-E with a 524.
Nick Fontaine bowled a 508 for the Marauders while Jacob Jenkins ended the day with a 479. Wyatt Youngs rounded out S-E’s top five bowlers five pins behind his teammate Jenkins.
Earlier in the week, Sherburne-Earlville saw a win over West Canada Valley, scoring all five points in the match as four out of five bowlers scored in the 500’s. Fontaine recorded the highest series score of the match with a 558, including his 218 in the final game of the afternoon.
Joey Youngs scored the highest single game score of the contest with a 219 in game two and finished with a 550 for a three game total.
Wyatt Youngs started the match off with a 203, the highest by any bowler in the first game of the day and ended with a 536 scratch series.
Kane added a 535 while Jenkins tallied a 402 in the win for Sherburne-Earlville.
West Canada Valley was led by Billie Tyson’s 432 in the match.
In the same match against West Canada Valley, the Lady Marauders also claimed victory as they rolled a final tallying of 1967, 66 pins better than their opponent. S-E won four of the five points to stay perfect on the season.
Olivia Felhmer scored the match high series for Sherburne-Earlville, rolling a three game total of 55 with a game one score of 212 – also the highest single game of the contest.
Dalaney Parker bowled the second best score of the day for S-E with a 447 which included a 168 third game high.
Jackie Bender recorded a 457 team-high series with a 179 bowled in the third game.
Sherburne-Earlville suffered a minor set back in game two of the match, combining for a score of 560 while their opponent rolled a team total of 639. The Marauders recovered by game three.
Aiding in the match win were S-E’s Jade Diamond (371), Alexis Fowleston (317) and Sierra Davis (307).
The girls match against Adirondack took place on Thursday but the score has yet to be reported.
Sherburne-Earlville is in action again on January 15 for the boys when they face Waterville. The girls don’t see action on the lanes again until January 17 as they host Sauquoit Valley. Both matches are scheduled for 4 p.m.
