Fifth annual "Dancing with the Cars" sock hop slated for next weekend

NORWICH – The Northeast Classic Car Museum will host its fifth annual mid-winter "Dancing with the Cars" event from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, January 25.

The 50s and 60s themed sock hop dance will feature the musical stylings of the Bruce Beadle Band, playing the oldies.

"This is one of our biggest events of the year for Northeast Classic Car Museum," said NECCM Marketing Coordinator Heather Calkins. "The last two years we had to set up additional tables as more guests arrived, so we expect a big crowd. It’s a nice family friendly evening out and a great way to shake off the cold of January."

Organizers said 50s and 60s themed costumes are encouraged but not required, and guests will be invited to get their photo taken with some of the 50s-era cars on display at the museum.

"Dancing with the Cars" will include pizza for sale, as well as ice cream, caramel corn, and a cash bar. The event is made possible by major sponsors Wells Fargo, NBT Bank, and NYCM Insurance, as well as several table sponsors.

Tickets are $15 for one and $25 for two, and can be found at www.classiccarmuseum.org/shop/ or by visiting the Northeast Classic Car Museum located at 24 Rexford Street in Norwich.
