Howard records career high series, single game in loss to Sidney on senior night

NORWICH – Oxford’s Erin Howard struck the first 11 balls rolled in game one against Sidney Friday night but the Blackhawks feel to the Warriors 4-0 in the match.
Howard finished the first game with a 288, recording a season high in the Midstate Athletic Conference for girls bowling this season and a career high single game.
Bowling a clean game in the second produced a 234 for Howard aided in her recording a career series best of 679. 
Prior to the match starting, Oxford’s head coach Lance Thorne honored his two seniors, Megan Smith and Leah VanDeusen. Smith finished with the next best series for the Blackhawks, bowling a 425 while VanDeusen ended the match with a 335 three-game total.
Catherine Northrup bowled in the first two games, rolling a two-game series score of 162. The last game was rolled by Madison Behr’s 78 for the Blackhawks.
The final bowler for Oxford for the match was Cat Maynard, who recorded a score in all three games for a series score of 300.
Sidney was led by Maegan Mazzarella’s 501 series and Kori Scott’s opening game 220 for the best single game score by the Warriors.
Oxford heads to the Midstate Athletic Conference Bowling Championships, which are held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Kirkwood. Sunset Lanes are hosting the tournament this year.
