Non-profit focused on substance abuse recovery comes to Chenango County

BAINBRIDGE – A non-profit called Truth Pharm is branching out to Chenango County and invites individuals to join their first meeting later this month in Bainbridge.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on February 27 at 1 Church Street in Bainbridge.

According to their mission statement, Truth Pharm is a non-profit organization raising awareness, reducing the stigma, and advocating for policy change to reduce the harms of substance abuse. It states the organization prefers to recognize there will always be people who abuse substances, and it's important to try to reduce the harms associated with it.

To help address increased substance abuse concerns in Chenango County, the non-profit will meet to discuss its Community Response Action Plan, and work with a group of people from the Bainbridge, Guilford, Afton areas that have branded themselves as Southern Chenango County Recovery Resources.

Event organizers said if you or someone you know has been watching their work from a distance and want to get involved, this is an opportunity to make a difference.
