Rasely returns to Norwich for concert

NORWICH – Renowned guitarist, composer and teacher Tom Rasely will return to Norwich on Monday, April 1 to perform a free concert presented by the Monday Evening Music Club. His performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. on April 1 at the United Church of Christ in Norwich.

Rasely has taught thousands of players across his career in his private studio, at the National Guitar Workshop in Connecticut, as the Director the the Norwich Guitar School, and at NPM Guitar Schools across the country. He has performed at the White House twice for the Christmas VIP tours, and has toured 26 states and parts of Canada.

A statement from the Monday Evening Music Club stated, “Tom Rasely has been a great friend to the music club through the years, and many will remember the piece he composed for the music club’s centennial celebration, ‘The Gift of Music.’ This work, commissioned by MEMC and funded by a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts, had its premiere on October 4, 2009––100 years to the day of the founding of the music club.”

Although free to attend, the Monday Evening Music Club will accept free-will donations at the concert to raise funds for the MEMC’s scholarship fund. MEMC’s scholarship fund awards scholarships annually to Chenango County high school seniors pursuing a college degree in music.

The United Church of Christ is located at 11 West Main Street in Norwich.
