Chenango Valley Home opens new Adult Enrichment Center

NORWICH – Chenango Valley Home & Apartments opened a new Adult Enrichment Center following a ribbon cutting on Thursday, March 28, which is offering day programs focused around planned activities, nutritious meals, socialization, and assistance with personal care for seniors.
Full day, half-day, and hour long programs are now available at the Adult Enrichment Center, where trained staff will provide supervision, a safe, cheerful environment, and caregiver respite and support for older adults.
Admission criteria for the Adult Enrichment Center are as follows: Participants must be 60 years of age, must indicate a willingness to participate, must be functionally challenges, must be capable of benefitting from socialization, must not require constant one-on-one supervision, must be ambulatory with or without the assistance of a wheelchair, walker, or cane, must not present a danger to oneself or other participants, and must be capable of performing everyday activities without skilled assistance.
Additional criteria includes: family members must be willing to assist with the participation, including periodic meetings with staff, and participants must have transportation to the center. Applicants will only be admitted after an assessment by program coordinators.
