Lourdes offering one day dental at Norwich YMCA
NORWICH – The Lourdes Mobile Dental Van will be at the Norwich Family YMCA on Thursday offering screenings and cleanings for individuals with and without insurance.
According to Chenango County United Way Executive Director Elizabeth Monaco, the event will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, at the Norwich Family YMCA.
Monaco said dental services will include x-rays, screenings, cleanings, and fluoride treatments that will be provided by Lourdes Hospital's Mobile Dental Services in partnership with the Chenango Dental Task Force.
"They use your insurance if you have insurance," said Monaco. "For low income people who are uninsured, they work with you to enroll you in different insurance options so you can continue to receive reduced or no cost dental care."
She said volunteers and medical staff will work with people in need of dental services, and help inform them on where to go next if further dental work is needed.
Event organizers asked that individuals please bring photo identification and dental insurance if applicable. They added that it is not required that the individual have dental insurance to receive services.
'"They will work with you to get the help and insurance you need based on your situation," said Monaco.
