Mother-and-son business celebrates Mother’s Day

SHERBURNE – Mother and son, Tammy Simpson and Derek Gager, are operators of the Sherburne greenhouse, Mountain View Gardens. The greenhouse is located at 139 Mountain View Drive.

Tammy began the business 11 years ago, turning a life-long hobby and love of gardening into her own business.

“I love plants a lot. It kind of went from a hobby to a business. Why? In short order - plants make people happy.”

Her son has followed in her footsteps as the greenhouse’s manager. He also has a degree in horticulture.

Mountain View Gardens is giving away a free plant with each hanging basket this week- end to celebrate Mother’s Day.

The baskets are mainly outdoor flowering plants, selected because they will bloom and grow all summer, until a strong frost. The business will also give away a free basket in a drawing at the end of Mother’s Day.

You can find the business on Facebook or call 607-674-4769 for more information.
