Sherburne hosts 8th annual arts festival

SHERBURNE – Sherburne held its eighth annual arts festival on Saturday with over 70 vendors, free caricatures, and a traveling zoo available as part of the event.
The arts festival was held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Gaines Park in Sherburne, and officials said the event has something for everyone. The event was hosted by the Sherburne Public Library.
According to a representative of the library, this year's featured artist was Anita L. Garzione, and she spoke about being an artist a day before the event.
In a statement, the library said Garzione was invited to join the Sherburne Art Society by Mariea Brown and Fred Buhner in 1967 during her freshman year in high school.
It added that Garzione also served has chairman of the statewide juried art show for the Norwich Fine Arts Guild, and as a board member of the Chenango County Council of the Arts, the Unified Concert Association, the Chenango Memorial Auxiliary, the Downtown Sherburne Beautification Committee, and the Facilitations Committee of the then developing Norwich Classic Car Museum.
