County lists properties in 2019 tax sale
NORWICH – Barring any canceled bids that may still occur, Chenango County could see a calculated gain of more than $11,000 from tax sale properties in 2019.
The County Board of Supervisors last week approved nearly 80 county-owned properties for sale. Just eight properties in delinquency did not receive a bid in this year's tax sale and only one bid was rejected, according to Chenango Deputy Treasurer Barbara Strier.
The Treasurer's Office said enough money was collected in the tax sale to reach a break even point.
Bidders have until Aug. 26 to finalize their bid at the county tax office.
“Anyone who fails to do that would forfeit their deposit and we would put the property back to re-bid which would be available in September,” said Strier.
