Three matches go 3-set distance in tough Norwich tennis loss

NORWICH – The score in Norwich’s match against Chenango Forks Monday afternoon was closer than appears with the Lady Tornado being on the losing end of a 5-2 final.
Second, third and fourth singles matches between Norwich and the visiting Blue Devils all went three sets with the Tornado coming away with just one point from Emma Brooks win.
Brooks overcame the 5-7 loss in the first set to capture the next two by scores of 6-1 and 6-3. Her head coach Nikki Brooks said Emma’s match win came due to the well struck and well timed baseline shots. The Lady Tornado freshman improved to 2-2 on the season.
Moving to a perfect 4-0 at first singles was Norwich’s Natalie Benenati, winning both sets 6-4. The Tornado head coach noted Benenati overcame many long rallies that ended with well constructed points.
