NORWICH – The Lady Purple Tornado were handed their second straight loss on Friday against Class AA Elmira, losing all three games in the match.
Norwich fell by four points in the first game and were within reach of the visiting team during the second, losing by just two points. However, in the third game of the night, it was Elmira running away with the sweep, winning the final game 25-18.
The Tornado’s serving percentage was 91.8-percent – just two-tenths of a percentage away from where head coach Shelly Alger and assistant coach Pete Komendarek want their girls to be after each match – as the team missed only five serves the entire match. During the second game, Norwich went a perfect 25-for-25.
The home team came away with a total of four aces for the match, two from Marissa Ramey and one from Sam Taylor, Madelyn Morris, and Lauren Squires each.
