Trojans score early to defeat MAC foe UV 1-0
GREENE – Two of the top four teams of the boys’ soccer Midstate Athletic Conference standings went up against each other on the Greene Trojans’ pitch Thursday night. Greene’s Nolan Butler found the back of the net early in the game and it proved to be the game winner for the Trojans as they defeated the visiting Unadilla Valley Storm 1-0.
The win for the Trojans comes after their first league loss of the season to Delhi earlier this week.
Butler’s goal was unassisted and came in the first half of one of the first 17 shots Greene riffled off in the direction of UV’s Brandon Kneale.
Kneale was strong after the goal went past him, stopping 14 in total for the contest.
