No. 12 Trojans storm past Sidney
GREENE – Building back the win streak that was at three games, the Greene Trojans Boys Soccer team hosted Sidney Saturday morning and came away with a 5-1 league victory for two straight wins.
Scout McCumiskey scored two goals to lead the Trojans in the win while Terriek Brown, Nolan Butler and Trent Rapp each found the back of the net once in the game.
Greene scored two of their five in the first half while Sidney’s lone goal was also registered in the first 45 minutes of play.
Distributing the ball on the goals scored were Calob Davenport for two of the five goals while teammate Ashton Craver passed to one of his teammate that was netted for the home team.
Sidney had a single shot on goal and they converted thats one shot into a goal as Bryan Agustin put the ball past Greene’s Nick Shoemaker, the keeper for the home team during the contest.
The Trojans fired a total of 23 shots to control the possession in their offensive third for most of the game. Seeing the ball come his way often, Sidney’s Tim Graw finished the game with 17 saves.
Greene (11-2-1) hosts Walton Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. for the regular season finale.
