Highway Superintendents Association hosts annual Toys for Tots drive

GREENE – Town and village highway superintendents from around Chenango County met in at the Silo Restaurant last week and gathered toys for local children.


According to Village of New Berlin Mayor Terry Potter, every year the towns throughout Chenango County send their highway supervisors to a Toys for Tots luncheon and drive with hopes to providing children in need with toys during the holidays. The supervisors met last Thursday to plan for this year’s holiday event.


Potter said from last year alone the association raised money and collected toys for 1,300 children within Chenango County.

“We’re doing what we can,” said Potter. “Each year we try to do more and it wouldn’t be possible without the hard work of our local highway supervisors.”


Chenango County Town Highway Association President and Town of Pitcher Highway Superintendent Brad Hotaling said this is an event focused purely on helping kids.
