Warriors 2nd quarter run pushes past Bobcats

SIDNEY – The Bobcats of Bainbridge-Guilford battled against host Sidney on the basketball court but fell 58-43 in the Midstate Athletic Conference contest Wednesday night.

B-G jumped out to a 12-9 lead after the first quarter but the Warriors quickly found a rhythm in the second and went on a 18-2 run to take a 13 point advantage into the intermission.

Following the break, the Bobcats rallied to outscore Sidney 12-10, but once again the home team put together a scoring stretch to capture the double figure victory on their home floor.

Bainbridge-Guilford was led by the double-double of Haiden Burns as he scored a team-high 15 points and pulled in 10 rebounds for the Bobcats. Teammate Trent Thornton also ended the night with double figures in the scoring column, recording 14.

B-G’s Kolby Furgason also chipped in seven points in the loss.

Sidney’s Liam Matthews led all scorers in the contest with 17, while colleague Jon Palmatier finished with 16. Devon Chabot scored 14 in the win for the Warriors and Glenn Rogers kicked in seven. Peyton Mosher rounded out the scoring for Sidney with four points.
