NORWICH – The Chenango United Way is unsure if it will bridge the funding gap with just four days left to raise money needed to fund local organizations and non-profits.

So far the Chenango United Way has $354,766 which is 83 percent of its total $425,000 goal. According to Executive Director Elizabeth Monaco, the organization is still anticipating receiving $20,000 in donations but but will still have a $50,000 gap in funding.

“If we don't raise the money a decrease in funding will have to happen. Whether it’s across the board or cutting specific programs, we're just not sure yet,” said Monaco.

Monaco said volunteers are in the process of scoring applications to determine where most of the funding will go.
