Parents can benefit from spelling bee club

NORWICH – The Spelling Bee Club returns to the Guernsey Memorial Library this month and it is now accepting new participants.


Students from any private or public school attending grades 5th through 8th in the greater Norwich region can attend free of charge.


The Spelling Bee Club will gather at the Guernsey Memorial Library’s Meeting Room beginning on Thursday, January 23, 2010, at 6:00 pm. The Spelling Bee Club will continue to meet every Thursday from 6 pm to 7 pm during the school year.


During the Bee Club meetings, students practice language, spelling, and vocabulary through games, special activities, and competitions.

Program volunteer Martha Ryan commented about the unique advantage of this program, “What makes this club so special is that parents attend the meetings and have active participation in the activities.”
