NORWICH – Norwich Family YMCA Executive Director Jamey Mullen was in Albany on Monday and Tuesday representing our Norwich Family YMCA and all YMCA's in New York State at the Annual YMCA Advocacy days at the New York State Capital.

During the two day visit, Mullen was appointed as the next Board President for the Alliance of New York State YMCAs. Mullen acted as board president during their annual meeting on Monday evening.

Norwich YMCA volunteer John Williams, who is currently serving as the Chairman of the NYS YMCA Foundation, joined Mullen in Albany representing the Y and the Norwich area. In addition, Williams was representing Chenango County as Deputy Treasurer while visiting the Capitol on Tuesday.

During their time in Albany, Mullen and Williams had visited Assemblymen Cliff Crouch and State Senator Fred Akshar.

Mullen said he was able to introduce the New York State YMCA budget priorities, while highlighting the importance of our Y within our community during the visit.

Jamey thanked Assemblymen Crouch for his 25 years of service to Chenango County and also thanked Senator Akshar for supporting local and statewide YMCA initiatives.
