Congressman Brindisi meets with Commerce Chenango to discuss the local economy

NORWICH – Congressman Anthony Brindisi visited Commerce Chenango Tuesday afternoon and spoke to local business representatives, veterans’ service providers, and other area leaders about how he can help improve Chenango County’s economy.


Commerce Chenango Executive Director and CEO Kerri Green spoke at the event and said that Brindisi’s office has continued to dedicate its time and efforts into helping Chenango County succeed.


“We are very thankful for his involvement in Chenango County and what we do,” said Green. “We work really closely with his office, and we really appreciate all of the time and resources they spend with us.”

Chenango County Board of Planning and Development Director Shane Butler agreed that this was a great opportunity to learn more about funding, and he said it was also a time to push for more funding for the census. He added that the data collected from the census has an impact on what kind of grant funding the municipality can apply for.


Green said having Brindisi come to the area in person was a huge benefit for everyone involved, and that Commerce Chenango is hoping to receive and provide funding for different projects in the area in the future.
