Girls basketball MAC all-stars announced for year

33 athletes named to three teams


BINGHAMTON – The sportsmanship award, the most valuable player and coach of the year honors were voted on by the Midstate Athletic Conference girls basketball coaches at end of the regular season.

The three awards along with the first, second and honorable mention all-star winners were announced at half time of the MAC boys championship on Friday at the Binghamton University Events Center,

Greene and Harpursville both received the sportsmanship awards. The coach of the year was given to Scott Young of the championship team from Deposit/Hancock and Laycee Drake was recognized with the league’s Most Valuable Player honors for the 2019-2020 season.

Below are the 33 girls basketball players who were named to one of the three teams for the all-star honors:

First Team:

Bainbridge-Guilford: Macie Leizear

Greene: Emma Smith

Oxford: Madalyn Barrows

Delhi: Sylvia Liddle, Sophia Wakin

Deposit/Hancock: Ariel Kellam

Unatego: Morgan Perry
