Chenango County cases of Coronavirus more than double in five days

CHENANGO COUNTY – The Chenango County Department of Public Health released its latest numbers for confirmed cases and quarantines for the Chenango County Area.


As of Friday there are 33 confirmed cases of coronavirus, 218 mandatory quarantines, and 101 precautionary quarantines.


By comparison on Monday, there were 16 confirmed cases and just 65 mandatory quarantines. This means that numbers for confirmed cases and mandatory quarantine have more than doubled since the beginning of this week.


The Department of Health has issued the following notice for people traveling to Chenango County from outside areas:


Stay Home, Stay Safe: Out of County Visitors Should Self-Isolate for 14 Days

Typically Chenango County welcomes a variety of travelers from outside our area who visit and stay at second homes, short-term rentals, campgrounds, motels and hotels. Some may be seeking refuge from COVID-19 hotspots.

    and wear a face mask if you must leave the house for groceries etc.
