Norwich High School Valedictorian and Salutatorian

NORWICH – On May 18 at the Board of Education meeting, Norwich Central School District announced the Class of 2020 Valedictorian and Salutatorian. Norwich High School Principal Kisten Giglio presented each student with the following:

"Michael Squires has achieved the honor of being declared the Valedictorian for the Norwich High School Class of 2020. Michael is a remarkable young man who excels in many walks of life. He has challenged himself with advanced placement, honors and dual enrollment courses throughout his high school career while also playing an active role in student life at NHS. He has served as President, Vice President and Treasurer of Student Government, is a member of National Honor Society, served as a Liberty Partnership mentor and is involved in YES! Leads. Within the greater Norwich community, he has been a part of the YMCA Leaders Club where he has served as Vice President for the last 3 years. Most recently, he developed a tutoring program for young students in response to our current global pandemic. Through these many efforts, Michael has certainly demonstrated his commitment to community service. Michael will be attending Princeton University in the fall to pursue a degree in astrophysics with certificates in computer science and entrepreneurship."
