NORWICH – On Friday, the Norwich Youth Bureau had another successful afternoon of distributing activity bags to residential youth.
This is the youth bureau’s fourth week of providing summer activities and second week of activity bag distribution. At this week’s distribution the youth bureau had a special guest. City of Norwich Police Officer Corey Wengert was at the distribution "issuing tickets.”
"The tickets are for free ice cream cones for the kids. No monthly quota for these tickets," joked Youth Bureau Director Robert Mason.
The "tickets" were gift certificates good for one free cone at Dusty's Dairy Bar and Grill in Norwich. Wengert handed out about 70 tickets during the distribution.
The youth bureau handed out over 40 bags. Mason said the theme for this week’s bag was aspiring artist.
