Two drivers die in Plymouth accident, one passenger survives

PLYMOUTH – Police said a speeding vehicle that veered into the opposite lane was responsible for a fatal accident that killed both drivers and left one passenger injured.

According to Chenango County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Joshua Gould, a 911 call was received at approximately 5:49 p.m. on Saturday reporting that there was a two vehicle accident between County Road 16 and Ashcraft Road in the Town of Plymouth.

Gould said it was determined that the driver of a 2009 Chevy Malibu, Jone Leone III, 22, of Auburn, was speeding through the area and failed to keep right.

“After an investigation we determined that Leone went into the other drivers lane going around a corner and hitting them head on,” said Gould.
