Friends of Rogers announce Tesla electric car winner

SHERBURNE – Friends of Rogers held the Electric Car Raffle Drawing at Rogers Center on October 21, at noon.
The raffle for the 2015 Tesla Model S, was a new fundraiser for Friends of Rogers. The staff is pleased with the number of tickets sold and the number of people they were able to educate about electric vehicles.
Executive Director Simon Solomon welcomed a crowd of people including board members, raffle volunteers and ticket holders. Sherburne Mayor Bill Acee drew the winning ticket from the compost bin and Director of Development Heather Tehan announced the winner.
The winner of the 2020 Electric Car Raffle is Virginia Huerfeld of Glenmont, NY.
Tehan said “We called the winner, and she was excited to have won the Tesla. She said her son had also entered and the whole family would be thrilled.”
“The raffle was a success all around and we look forward to meeting the winner and awarding her this beautiful car,” said Executive Director Simon Solomon.
All proceeds of the raffle benefits Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, a nonprofit organization.
