Sherburne-Earlville Schools switches to virtual instruction after COVID cases confirmed
Dear parents and caregivers,
The district learned on the afternoon of January 11, that two members of the Sherburne-Earlville Central School District community tested positive for COVID-19.
At this time, the Chenango County Health Department has determined that the case did result in school exposure.
Due to precautionary quarantining of staff from the positive cases, the district will be moving to full virtual instruction, beginning Tuesday, January 12. The district plans to resume in-person learning on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
Students in grades 6 to12 should learn synchronously from home, logging in to each class meeting at the time they are typically scheduled to attend. They should also be checking email and Google Classrooms for updates, and checking in with your homeroom teacher every day.
We are not transporting 11th and 12th grade students to the CTE program at DCMO BOCES. Students may engage virtually or transport themselves.
Elementary students need to check their Seesaw accounts in the morning for instructions from their teachers.
During this remote period, if you need meals, you may pick up a five-day supply between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at the elementary school parent pick-up loop.
If you need additional support during this time, please contact the main office at (607)674-7300.
Contact tracing was completed by the district. Further contact tracing may be completed by county health officials and students or staff will be contacted directly if the county determines they were in direct contact with a positive individual.
