Chenango Valley Swimmers overpower Greene

GREENE- On Friday January 22nd, the Chenango Valley Warriors boys swim team overpowered the hosting Green Trojan’s by a margin of 89-64. The CV swimmers took charge from the start- winning the 200 Yard Medley Relay to open the scoring with the quartet of Alex Hilldale, Luke Hoyt, Tyler Schultz and Gabe McManus finishing in a time of 1:47.42. Meanwhile Greene’s Ayden Doolittle, Cooper Klump, Trent deHaan and Geoffrey Walker kept up the pace of their opponents finishing nine seconds back of the winning CV squad- with a time of 1:56.70.

The Trojan’s Ayden Doolittle was the team’s jack-of-all trades on the evening, competing in three additional events aside from the aforementioned relay. Doolittle finished- fifth with a time of 27.03 in the very quick 50 yard freestyle, he would also place econd as part of the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team, joining classmates Geoffrey Walker, Luke DeJager and Trent deHaan- finishing with a time of 1:43.62 Doolittle closed out events with a final second place finish in the 100 Yard Backstroke in a time of 1:19.64

Greene’s Trent deHaan later finish second in the 100 Yard Freetsyle with a time of 53.29- only three seconds off the leader; CV’s Tyler Shultz. With deHaan’s effort to keep Greene in the tightly contested swim meet- he would finish just one and a half seconds short of the top mark in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.08 seconds.
