Norwich zips past Windsor with second half surge

NORWICH – With unseasonably cool temperatures and some relatively high wind speeds at game time, the Norwich Purple Tornado girls varsity soccer team turned the temperature gage on high in the second half as they speed past the Windsor Black Knights to a 7-4 victory on Thursday night.

The Tornado faced a 3-1 deficit early in the contest before a surge of offense tore through the Windsor defense with a stunning 6-1 goal turn around in favor of the Tornado. Norwich freshman Asaine Mutabiilwa and sophomore teammate Elli Ryan each scored their first career varsity goals.

Tornado sophomore Sarah Davis scored a hat trick for the purple glad girls and senior Sydney Coggins pitched in two goals of her own and added in four assists.
