ONEONTA – Two days after an officer-involved shooting in Oneonta, the New York State Police have identified Oneonta Police Department Sergeant Ralph Pajerski and the deceased individual as Tyler R. Green, 23, of Oneonta as the main individuals related to the incident.

According to New York State Police Troop C Public Information Officer Aga Dembinska, the officer-involved shooting occurred at approximately 12:57 p.m. on Tuesday in the City of Oneonta.

“The Oneonta Police Department responded to a report of a domestic incident on River Street in the City of Oneonta,” said Dembinska. “Police encountered a male subject armed with a knife.”

“During the course of the engagement with the subject, an officer fired his duty weapon, striking the subject.”
