Norwich Girls Volleyball sweeps Cooperstown

COOPERSTOWN – Not much went in favor of the Hawkeye’s on Tuesday night when Norwich traveled to Cooperstown, in a rematch of an earlier match this season. Norwich won 3-1 in their first outing against the Coop’ back on April 6th, and this contest proved to be no different. The Purple Tornado girls’ varsity volleyball team swept Cooperstown in three-straight games 25-15, 25-23, 25-23.

Norwich took no time settling in as they jetted out to an opening game victory, followed by two straight close games at the end of the match. NHS was rolling on all cylinders as they recorded nearly 84 percent of their serves landed in-bounds.

No stranger to dropping the hammer on opposing teams, Lauren Squires recorded a game high 23 kills and fellow offensive lightening rod Marissa Ramey added in 15 kills of her own.
