Girls Volleyball: Windsor defeats Norwich 3-1

WINDSOR – On Thursday April 22nd the Norwich Purple Tornado girls’ varsity volleyball team traveled to take on the top team in the division; the Windsor Black Knights. Despite Norwich serving a remarkable 87.5% accuracy from the serving line, the Black Knights showed why they’ve been the top dog this year as Windsor won three out of four sets to win the match.

The Black Knights won the first two games in dominating fashion defeating Norwich 25-18 and 25-20 respectively. However, Norwich rallied in the third set winning 25-19 before falling in a close final game to Windsor 25-23.

Norwich’s Sammi Taylor recorded a team high 10 digs with Meg Lindrige and Lauren Squires pitching in nine and seven digs respectively. Maddy Morris had a team high 12 assists with Madysn Ryan dishing out eight. Lauren Squires led the Purple Tornado in blocks with three and kills with 14, Marissa Ramey finished second on the team in kills with 11.
