CHENANGO FORKS - Chenango Forks' boys tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over Norwich on Friday, but it easily could've been much closer.

The Blue Devils squeezed by with narrow wins in the featured first singles and first doubles matches.

At first singles, Forks' Michael Rullo edged Norwich's Jonathan Ryan 9-7, and at first doubles, the Blue Devils' Connor Bryant and Evan Jacobs squeaked by Norwich's William Lindner and Alex Newman, 9-8.

Norwich garnered its lone team point at second singles, when, Nathan Franklin grabbed a 9-5 victory over Joey Worden.

Forks also benefited from a forfeit at three doubles over the undermanned Purple Tornado.
