Chenango County Elections Office seeking poll workers

CHENANGO COUNTY – As the date draws near for local elections to begin, the Chenango County Elections Office is seeking poll workers countywide to help determine who will fill leadership roles throughout the county.


According to Chenango County Republican Election Commissioner Mary Lou A. Monahan, certification classes for the 2021-2022 election cycle will be held in July, and all poll workers must be a Chenango County registered voter.


Monahan said full shifts for Election Day are 5 a.m. until approximately 10 p.m., and partial shifts are for the morning 5 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., and afternoon 1:30 p.m. until done for the day.

“Poll workers are compensated for both class and Election Day,” said Monahan. “Please call the Chenango County Board of Elections at 607-337-1764 or 607-337-1765 to be part of this very important process.”
