Chenango County DMV opens back up to the public

NORWICH – The Chenango County DMV has returned to a pre-COVID operation schedule, giving motorists the option of walk-in appointments for the first time in more than a year.

The DMV opened walk-in appointments back up Monday, though still filling phone-in appointments made weeks ago. According to County Clerk Mary Weidman, this will be the norm for the department as it continues to take calls for appointments in addition to walk-ins.

“If somebody calls us and wants an appointment, we’re going to keep slots open so that they can have appointments and those people will have priority,” she said.
