Ultra-Lite airplane crashes in Bainbridge

NORWICH — State police have confirmed an Ultra-Lite airplane crashed at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, in Bainbridge, NY.

The aircraft was found to be tangled in electrical wires in the 2600 block of State Route 7, according to Troop C Public Information Officer Aga Dembinska. She said a mechanical issue caused the plane to strike a tree and the power lines.

The 71 year old male who was piloting the craft was able to get out of the plane. Dembinska said he was transported to TriTown Hospital for evaluation and treatment, and was later released.
