Sherburne man charged with raping underage victim

SHERBURNE - The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Sherburne man on charges that he forcibly raped an underage victim multiple times over the course of several months.

Sheriff Ernest Cutting said that on Aug. 3, his detectives division arrested 44-year-old Jason L. Fowlston of the Village of Sherburne for rape in the first degree and rape in the third degree. The sheriff’s office said it was tipped off by a complaint of an alleged forcible rape of a person under the age of 17.

Fowlston was held at the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday evening for arraignment.
