Norwich’s holiday season may get a little sweeter this year
NORWICH — Preparations are under way for this year’s holiday season, according to BID Administrator Tracy Chawgo and BID Executive Committee member Mindy Chawgo. The pair are hard at work organizing this year’s Trunk or Treat and Saturdays in the Park with Chobani.
Trunk or Treat was one of the few community events not lost to COVID-19 last year, and Tracy Chawgo said they want to bring it back this October.
“We did it last year, Mindy organized it and set it up. It was a huge success. We had, I can’t even tell you how many kids, there was a ton of kids there,” he said. “We want to do it again this year, again in the Frontier parking lot.”
The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 30. The day will also host several other community events as well.
“That’s also the last day of Saturday in the Park with Chobani. as well as the YMCA Halloween Parade will be that day as well. Businesses will provide their own wrapped candy. But we, like I said, we just wanted to give you guys a heads up that that’s a work in progress, planning is underway,” said Tracy.
