Norwich girls’ soccer falls to Owego
NORWICH- It was the tale of two halves for the Purple Tornado, as the girls’ varsity soccer team’s losing streak was extended to three games on Monday night. The visiting Owego Indians defeated the Tornado by a final score of 9-1.
Norwich’s Devin Flanagan scored the lone Purple Tornado goal in the contest as Owego led 3-1 at the half, before the Indians offense exploded for six goals in the final half of play.
“It was a good game. They’re (Owego) a good team- they had a couple great players that killed our team in passing” said Norwich Head Coach Heather McShane, “Overall it was a great game, they have a great team.”
Norwich is back in action on Wednesday September 29th, when they host the Windsor Black Knights with game time slated to begin at 7:00pm.
Senior Night festivities will begin prior to kick-off at approximately 6:30pm.
